Dr Cristina Tassi
Dr Cristina Tassi an Italian Blood Bank specialist and expert haematologist researcher in Sickle Cell Disease, Thalassaemia and Haemoglobinopathies has visited St Theresa annually for many years. Cristina has facilitated the development of a reliable and expert laboratory with support of the MOH, WHO and other relevant donor NGO’s. With her assistance safe basic related donor/matching transfusions was established to save many children with profound anaemia. Her proposals for a blood bank facility are being implemented in 2018.
